Gimme gimme gimme

On the lookout for a few new sundresses before Bonnaroo next week.

3, 5, and 8 are my favorites, but I still don't think I'll be ready for Tennessee humidity.

Midnight in Paris

I can honestly say I have never seen a Woody Allen movie (unless you count Antz), but I think I'm gonna have to get myself out to Camelview before this one leaves theaters.

Rachel McAdams, Marion Cotillard, Carla Bruni, Paris, time travel to the 1920's... yeah, I definitely need to see this one.

Summertime blues, Brett, and bean dip

So far this summer I have done very little.

It has been such an odd transition from waking up at 5:30 am every day and always having work to do to having nothing to do but feed myself and run random errands. If I don't establish some kind of summertime routine, there's going to be trouble.

My little brother's graduation party is this weekend and I've been trying to help my parents get the house ready (long story, but they are trying to put their house back together after painting and getting new carpet) and the graduation video ready. FinalCutPro and I will be best friends by the end of the weekend. Here is a preview of the video:

Still, I'm in desperate need of some hobbies to entertain myself without having to drive to Gilbert every day of my summer.

Suggestions?

On an entirely unrelated note, Fresh and Easy's cuban black bean dip is the greatest bean dip I have ever had.

Bonnarooooooooo

10 days until Bonnaroo!

In no particular order, here are a few of the bands I'm looking forward to seeing...

Ratatat

Freelance Whales

Girl Talk

Explosions in the Sky

Arcade Fire

Alison Krauss and Union Station

Mumford and Sons

EDIT:

Iron and Wine too!

Sick of being sick.

Immune system: Oh good -- now that Katie doesn't need to call in sick for work anymore, we can go on vacation too!

DayQuil and I are becoming close friends. Not exactly how I pictured my first days of summer vacation.

On a more exciting note, my baby brother graduated from high school. Congratulations, Brett!

What is a youth?

For obvious reasons, watching Romeo and Juliet in a classroom full of teenagers is not the same as watching the films in the comfort of your own home.

I thought that I preferred the 1996 Luhrmann version over the 1968 Zeffirelli, but the Zeffirelli version has really grown on me. How perfect is Olivia Hussey's face? She looks like a porcelain doll.

Les animaux dansent dans le safari disco club.

Last night I was lucky enough to go see Yelle at the Rhythm Room and it was too cool! I don't know if I've ever had so much fun at a concert before. She was excellent live and we all danced like crazy.

I took a clip of her encore, but I had to cut it short because I couldn't dance and film at the same time. :)

Even more amazing was that she actually stayed after to sign autographs and take pictures. She was super adorable and nice.
Me, Yelle, and Ashley

Here is the music video for the song she was singing in my clip (A Cause des Garcons).

Now if I could just get my hands on her new album I would be set. :)

Mes nouvelles aventures en France

Last October, I applied to a program to become an English teaching assistant in France and I just found out that I've been accepted! From what I know so far, I will be somewhere in the Grenoble region. Unfortunately, I'll have to wait a bit longer to find out exactly where I'll be and exactly what level I'll be teaching.

While I wait, I'll content myself with researching the French Alps region, planning the places I want to visit, and studying my French. I feel like I will appreciate being immersed in French so much more than three years ago.

What a great birthday present. :)
